Facial Trauma

Ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialistsplay a crucial role in the management and treatment of facial trauma. Dr. Worrell is trained to address the complex anatomy of the face, which includes bones, soft tissues, and vital structures like the eyes, ears, nose, and throat. When a person experiences facial trauma, a thorough examination is made to evaluate and assess the extent of the injuries. This may involve physical examinations, imaging studies such as X-rays, CT scans, or MRIs, and possibly endoscopic examinations to visualize internal structures.

Treatments provided can include surgical and non-surgical interventions. For fractures of facial bones (such as the nose, jaw, or cheekbones),  procedures can be performed to realign and stabilize the bones, often using plates, screws, or wires.

Additionally, ENT care is essential for managing complications that may arise from facial trauma, such as airway obstruction, chronic pain, infections, and issues with facial nerve function. By providing comprehensive care that addresses both immediate injuries and long-term functional and cosmetic concerns, Foothill ENT Care specialists help individuals recover more fully from facial trauma.
